SC dismisses Sasikala's plea seeking CBI probe into Amma's death

New Delhi: The Supreme Court, on Thursday, dismissed the plea filed by the expelled All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) MP Sasikala Pushpa, seeking a CBI probe or a judicial investigation by the apex court into the death of Jayalalithaa.

A bench held by Justices PC Ghose and RF Nariman dismissed the petition and said," We dismiss these petitions and if such petitions are filed further, we will impose costs on you. We are not inclined to entertain the matter as a similar one is already pending before the Madras High Court."

It may be mentioned that, on December 18, 2016, Pushpa alleged that the death of Jayalalithaa was suspicious and her medical condition was also not disclosed.

She further claimed that no one was allowed to visit her in the hospital. Her funeral photographs also showed four marks on her face.

It may also be recalled that a similar plea was filed by Tamil Nadu Telegu Yuva Sakthi citing the suspicion raised over the circumstances of the death of Amma.
