Yogaguru Baba Ramdev could not get any relief from the Supreme Court for contempt against Patanjali Ayurveda in the misleading advertisement case. He will have to appear in court again on April 23. The Supreme Court has given Ramdev one more time. Yogaguru Ramdev and his associate Balkrishna reached the Supreme Court today. This case pertains to contempt against Patanjali Ayurved in relation to misleading advertisements and claims of treatment of Corona.

Justice Hima Kohli asked Ramdev whether he should forgive whatever he has done. On this, Ramdev said that "I would like to say that we have apologized unconditionally for whatever mistake we have made." On which the court said that you held a press conference and also gave advertisements.

The court told Ramdev that "we have not given you pardon yet. We will think about it. Your history is similar. If the company is worth so many crores then they would not have done this." Ramdev said that it will not happen again. On this the court said that "we have not yet made up our mind whether to forgive you or not. You have violated not once but three times." Ramdev said that "we will not repeat this."

The court asked him if he thought that despite the court's order, he published advertisements and gave speeches. Ayurveda has been going on since the time of Maharishi Charak. "Why did you talk about canceling someone else's method for your own method?" On this Ramdev said that "we have no such intention. We did more than 5000 researches. In Ayurveda, we have done research at the level of medicine."

On this the judge said that "we are talking about your attitude. You have been called because you have disobeyed our order and you have called the other medicine bad. Advertisement of medicines for incurable diseases is prohibited." On which Ramdev said that "we should not have said this, we will keep that in mind from now on." The court said that "you have acted irresponsibly."

The IMA had filed a petition against Patanjali in 2022 after it published an advertisement in newspapers titled 'Misconceptions spread by Allopathy: Save yourself and the country from the misconceptions spread by the pharma and medical industry'. The advertisement claimed that Patanjali's medicines have cured people's diabetes, high blood pressure, thyroid, liver cirrhosis, arthritis and asthma.

The doctors' body said Patanjali repeatedly made false claims about the treatment of certain diseases with its products. On November 21, 2023, the Supreme Court warned Patanjali against claims that its products can completely cure diseases like sugar, high blood pressure. Along with this, he also threatened to impose heavy fines.
