New Delhi: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, who held a high-level security review meeting on Sunday in the wake of Uri terror attack in which 17 soldiers were killed, lambasted Pakistan for its continued and direct support to terrorism and terror outfits.

Rajnath, who was to go to the United States and Russia, called off his visit immediately after coming to know about the terror attack and convened the meeting at his official residence in the national capital. He also apprised Prime Minister Narendra Modi of the situation in Jammu and Kashmir as well as outcome of the meeting.

Meanwhile, the PM instructed Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar to take measures along with Rajnath in view of the attack.

The Home Minister took to micro blogging website Twitter apparently blaming Pakistan for the despicable attack on the Indian Army headquarters in Uri and said the country’s support to terrorism had disappointed him to the core.

As many as 17 soldiers were martyred while four militants were gunned down when they attacked the 12th brigade headquarters of the Indian Army in Jammu and Kashmir’s Uri sector on Sunday morning.

The terrorists entered the base camp after cutting the fencing wires and indulged in indiscreet firing. In retaliation, the soldiers gunned down four of them while 17 servicemen were also killed in the assault.
