Railways runs Discovery Tour for North-East, People can see picturesque valleys and plains.

North-eastern parts of the country have always been big attractions for the tourists from the country and abroad. But owing to the difficulties in reaching these far off places many a times the people avoid travelling there. Many tourists prefer to visit Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and other tourist destinations during the holidays.

Indian Railways have come forward to help those desiring to visit the north-eastern states.

The Ministry of Railways in collaboration with the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) Limited is operating 'North East Discovery' Tour to promote tourism in the unexplored places of the North Eastern States.

This specially organized tour by Bharat Gaurav Deluxe AC Tourist Train will commence from Safdarjung Railway Station, Delhi on 16th November. This tour includes the cities of Guwahati, Sivasagar, Jorhat and Kaziranga of Assam, Unakoti, Agartala and Udaipur of Tripura, Kohima and Dimapur of Nagaland and Shillong and Cherrapunji of Meghalaya, which will be visited through this tour for 15 days.

Bharat Gaurav Deluxe air-conditioned tourist train has a host of modern amenities including two dining cars/restaurants, a contemporary kitchen (flameless), shower cubicles in AC First and AC Second coaches, sensor-based washroom function, foot massager and a mini library. This fully air-conditioned train has three types of accommodation facilities: AC First, AC Second and AC Third. The train is equipped with the facility of CCTV cameras, electronic safes and security guards in each coach.

This tour will include train travel in respective category, overnight stay in air-conditioned hotels, all meals (vegetarian only), all transfers in buses and sightseeing, travel insurance, services of tour escort. Apart from this, all necessary health preventive measures will be taken full care of.
