Indian athlete Milkha Singh passed away late Friday due to complications in Covid 19. Last week, his wife Nirmal Kaur took her last breath at a Mohali hospital. The former Indian Women Volleyball team captain was also battling Coronavirus. Late Milkha Singh had contracted the virus after which he was admitted to the hospital on June 3. Earlier this week, the former Indian sprinter had tested negative for the virus and was shifted from the Covid ICU to the medical ICU at Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research. He had developed a fever and experienced a dip in oxygen saturation level.

Several celebrities took to their social media handles to mourn his loss with heartfelt messages and photos of the late athlete. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also paid tribute to the legendary sprinter on his official Twitter handle.

Look at his Tweet!

The public got angry on just this. People started teaching English lessons that there should be His, not Her. Netizens started trolling Rahul fiercely about this. Trolls started telling him Pappu and all such things.

Take a look here!

Preeti Singh, National Social Media Incharge of Bharatiya Janata Party Mahila Morcha, was also included in the tweets taking out the mistake in grammar. First she tweeted that not Her, Him. Then deleted her tweet.

Why deleted? Because in reality, the error is not from Rahul, but from those who troll him. Here Her is the correct word, not His. In fact, the names of countries are always considered to be feminine according to grammar, not masculine. Also in English. Country names are considered Feminine gender, not masculine. Therefore, it is okay to write Her only with the name of the country. Some users also pointed it out on the tweet itself.

Then another reason people are also saying that sir, we consider India as mother. He gives his address by saying 'Bharat Mata'. What's wrong with using Her then? But trolls go beyond right and wrong. They just happen.

Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi is celebrating his 51st birthday today. Wishes poured in for Rahul Gandhi on social media as the Congress leader turned 51 on Saturday. The party workers are celebrating his birthday this time by observing 'Sewa Diwas' - distributing essential items, including face masks, medicine kits, and cooked meals to people in the national capital.

Political leaders across party lines wished Rahul Gandhi, a member of parliament from Kerala's Wayanad. Congress leaders and the party's various regional units took to their official Twitter handles to post greetings for their former party chief while the BJP leaders too wished him.
