Pulwama Encounter: Army major, two JeM terrorists among seven killed

Jammu: Indian Army, on Monday, gunned down two Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) militants, including Pulwama terror attack mastermind Kamran, alias Ghazi.

Four Army personnel, including a major also lost their lives in an encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district.

A civilian was also killed in the exchange of fire in Pinglan area of south Kashmir's Pulwama district, as per reports.

The gunfight started late on Sunday after security forces, including the Rashtriya Rifles (RR), Special Operations Group (SOG) of the state police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), surrounded the village following a tip off that JeM militants were hiding in Pinglan village.

The Jaish-e-Mohammed has claimed responsibility for the February 14 terror attack that left 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel dead and five critically wounded.
