Lucknow, July 30. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the record-breaking plantation drive of 30.21 crore saplings in the state on July 22 has been lauded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During his "Mann Ki Baat" program on Sunday, the Prime Minister praised the plantation campaign, calling it a remarkable example of public participation and awareness. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath listened to the "Mann Ki Baat" program live at his official residence.

The Prime Minister stated that Uttar Pradesh has set a record by planting 30 crore trees in a single day. The state government initiated the campaign, and the people of the state wholeheartedly participated in making it a success. He urged everyone to be a part of such efforts to plant trees and conserve water.

Expressing gratitude, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath thanked the Prime Minister for appreciating the plantation drive. He tweeted that the inspiration from the Prime Minister has turned this into a "Jan-Andolan" (people's movement). They are all making dedicated efforts for the development of a greener Uttar Pradesh. On the occasion of the 77th Independence Day, the state is committed to planting five crore saplings.

In the direction of environmental conservation, Yogi's plantation drive has left a significant mark. Over the past six years, the Yogi government has planted 136 crore saplings in Uttar Pradesh, making a remarkable contribution to environmental protection. Now, they aim to plant 175 crore trees in the next five years. The target for this year is 35 crore saplings, out of which 30.21 crore were planted on July 22. Additionally, five crore saplings are scheduled to be planted on August 15. Notably, about five crore saplings have already been planted in the seven dry regions of Bundelkhand.

Addressing the rise in tourism in Kashi (Varanasi), the Prime Minister appreciated the deep sense of pilgrimage among people. He specifically mentioned Varanasi, his parliamentary constituency, where 10 crore people visit annually for the darshan (sight) of Kashi Vishwanath. Furthermore, Mathura and Ayodhya have also witnessed a significant increase in the number of pilgrims, leading to new employment opportunities for millions of underprivileged individuals.
