Power of indigenous weapons will be demonstrated at Pokhran, PM Modi will see 'Bharat Shakti'

Chief of Defense Staff General Anil Chauhan and Army Chief General Manoj Pandey will also be present along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to see this demonstration of India's 'self-reliance' in the defense sector.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will see the demonstration of indigenous defense capabilities of the three armies in Pokhran, Rajasthan on Tuesday (12 March). The coordinated display of indigenous defense capabilities in the form of live fire and exercise by the three armies has been named 'Bharat Shakti'. The Indian Army, Indian Navy and Air Force will conduct maneuvers for about 50 minutes and showcase the weapons manufactured under the Make in India project.

During this exercise, Indian-made weapon systems, Arjun tank, Dhanush howitzer, Tejas fighter aircraft and ALH Dhruv helicopter will showcase their firepower. Chief of Defense Staff General Anil Chauhan and Army Chief General Manoj Pandey will also be present along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to see this demonstration of India's 'self-reliance' in the defense sector.

PMO has confirmed that PM Modi will attend the 'Bharat Shakti' program in Pokhran, Rajasthan on Tuesday.

Major General CS Mann ADG of the Army Design Bureau said, "Navy's Marcos, Air Force's Garuda and Army's Special Forces will operate by entering the enemy area created for the exercise. Help from drones and Air Force will also be taken from the sky. So that no one can attack them during this time. After this, there will be a demonstration of destroying the targets by accurately targeting them with long range weapons and artillery guns."

Important equipment to be displayed includes K-9 Vajra Self-Propelled Howitzer, Robotic Mules, Mobile Air Defense System, Integrated Drone Detection and Neutralization System, Sarvatra Bridging System, Minefield Plough, Akash Air Defense System and AK-203 assault rifles. The static display will also feature weapon detection radar Swati and BrahMos missile system.

During the exercise, various versions of the Indian-made Pinaka multi-barrel rocket launcher, Arjun tank, Dhanush howitzer, Tejas fighter aircraft and ALH Dhruv helicopter will showcase their firepower. The Air Force will conduct deep strikes against strategic targets, while the Navy will perform maritime operations for strategic effect. Also, strategic action of the army will be taken to capture a place, after which the enemy air force will be attacked using air defense weapons and counter drones.
