New Delhi: The initial post-mortem reports of the Unnao gangrape victim, came out on Saturday, which discloses the last few answers about her struggle with life.

Later, the body was given to her family and was taken to her village via ambulance through road.

As victim's report reads, she died due to Cardiac arrest at 11:40 pm, on Friday. The victim was battling for her life at Delhi's Safdarjung hospital, after she was set ablaze while on her way to a court hearing on Thursday morning. The Medical Superintendent of Safdarjung Hospital, Dr Sunil Gupta, told that post-mortem was performed by a team led by Dr MK Wahi, Head of Department of Forensic unit. Dr. Gupta also said that Uttar Pradesh Police and Delhi Police, weren't part of this forensic procedure.

Dr Shalab Kumar (HOD of burns and plastic department) told media,

''It is very sad that the Unnao rape victim could not survive despite our best efforts. She suffered cardiac arrest at 11:10 pm and we tried to resuscitate her, but she could not survive."

This case was widely criticized by many political parties and violence against women across the state. UP CM, Yogi Adityanath-led BJP government in the state also came under media scrutiny over rising incidents of rapes in his reign.

Condemning the act and criticizing Yogi Adityanath's government, Samajwadi Party leader and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav sat on a 'dharna' outside the state Vidhan Sabha and was accompanied by two senior ministers of Samajwadi Party - Naresh Uttam Patel and Rajendra Chaudhary in the dharna.

This is what Akhilesh said:

"This is an extremely condemnable incident. This is a black day. It is not the first such incident under this BJP government. CM (Yogi Adityanath) had said in this very assembly, 'apradhiyon ko thok diya jayega', (but) they could not save the life of a daughter.''

Akhilesh also demanded the resignation of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, state's Home Secretary and the DGP, saying, "justice won't be done to Unnao rape case without their resignation." He also said that his party will conduct a 'Shokh Sabha' in all districts of Uttar Pradesh on December 8, in the protest of Unnao rape case.

Priyanka Gandhi's reaction:

To console and share the pain of the victim's family, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi met her parents. Priyanka too attacked the state government for the state of law and order in UP.

"It is a failure of all of us that we could not give her justice. Socially, we are all guilty, but it also shows the law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh," she said.

Priyanka also questioned as to why crimes against women were rampant in the state and given the previous incident in Unnao, why no protection was given to the victim.

After the post-mortem was completed, the mortal remains of the Unnao rape victim were taken to her village in Unnao.

As per police report, five miscreants allegedly threw kerosene on her and set her ablaze when she was on her way to a local court for the hearing of a rape case she had filed.

It is to be mentioned that the woman had filed a rape case in March this year, which is under a trial at a local court in Uttar Pradesh's Unnao.
