Ranchi: At least four people, including a police officer, were killed and one person was severely injured in a road accident in Giridih district of Jharkhand early on Monday.

Sub Inspector Mahesh Verma, was returning from a marriage with his family members in a Bolero car when the accident took place at Jalakdiha village on the Bengabad-Madhupur Road, around 190 km from Giridih.

  • The driver of the vehicle was said to have dozed off at the wheel. due to which the car hit a tree.
  • The injured was immediately taken to the nearby hospital where the doctors said that he is out of danger.

It may be mentioned that Mahesh Verma was posted in Pakur district.
