In a significant move aimed at celebrating International Women's Day and providing financial relief to households, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a substantial reduction of Rs 100 in the prices of LPG cylinders. The decision, effective from midnight, reflects the government's commitment to easing the economic burdens faced by millions of families across the country.

PM Modi, in a post on X, stated, "Today, on Women's Day, our Government has decided to reduce LPG cylinder prices by Rs. 100." This thoughtful gesture is expected to significantly benefit Nari Shakti, acknowledging the pivotal role played by women in households.

The Prime Minister emphasized the broader implications of the decision, stating, "By making cooking gas more affordable, we also aim to support the well-being of families and ensure a healthier environment. This is in line with our commitment to empowering women and ensuring 'Ease of Living' for them."

The reduction in LPG prices drew praise from various political figures, highlighting the positive impact on the lives of women and their families. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed gratitude, stating that the move would not only provide financial relief but also contribute to a healthier life by reducing exposure to smoke and pollution.

BJP chief JP Nadda commended PM Modi's decision, stating, "This decision will reduce the financial burden of our mothers and sisters and will provide them with good health and a happy life. I express my gratitude to the Prime Minister for this important initiative dedicated to the purpose of environmental protection and honoring mother power."

Union Minister Smriti Irani also lauded the decision, emphasizing its significance in creating "smoke-free kitchens." She expressed her congratulations to the Prime Minister for the sensitive decision that would benefit millions of mothers and sisters across the country.

The positive reactions extended beyond political circles, with Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Prem Chand Bairwa acknowledging PM Modi's consistent efforts for the pride and honor of women. Other leaders, including Rajendra Rathore, praised the Prime Minister for his impactful Women's Day gift.

This announcement comes after Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) had recently increased the prices of 19 kg commercial LPG gas cylinders. The reduction in domestic LPG prices serves as a contrasting move, providing a respite for households facing economic challenges.

PM Modi's decision to reduce LPG cylinder prices on International Women's Day reflects a thoughtful and impactful initiative. Beyond its immediate financial benefits, the move aligns with broader goals of promoting health, well-being, and environmental sustainability. As the nation applauds this Women's Day gift, it underscores the importance of policy decisions that directly impact the lives of citizens, especially women who play a crucial role in shaping the foundation of our society.
