Calicut: Describing Kerela as the 'God's own Country', Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said the devotion and spirituality of the land is because of the people.

While addressing a public meeting in Calicut, PM Modi said:

  • It is because of people, saints and culture that the devotion and spirituality of the state is maintained.
  • 'Gods own Country' evokes a spiritual feeling.
  • When I visited gulf countries recently, I wanted to meet my people from Kerala living there.
  • Mahatma Gandhi, Deendayal Upadhyay & Ram Manohar Lohia's thoughts have influenced the political developments.
  • Have come to Kerala for the second time. This time I've seen human wall from helipad to this venue.
  • Our Govt is focused on upliftment of poor, downtrodden people of our country.
  • Before joining electoral politics, I had the good fortune of serving BJP organisation.
  • When I visited gulf countries recently, I wanted to meet my people from Kerala living there.
  • Leaders from Gulf countries have praised work, discipline of Malayalis.
  • The people of Kerala are seen with respect in the country and the world.
  • Within 50 years BJP has become India's no. 1 party.
  • Kerala has the potential to be India's no.1 state.
  • I want to assure the party workers in Kerala that their sacrifice and hard work will never go in vain.
  • The country is moving forward with the mantra of "Sabka saath, sabka vikaas.
  • I can see a lot of potential to make sure that this 21st century becomes Asia's 21st century.
  • All our schemes are focused on the empowerment of all sections of our society.
  • There is only one nation which is involved in exporting terrorism throughout the world.
  • I want to say to the BJP workers in Kerala your sacrifices will not go waste.
  • Terrorism is enemy of humanity. Humanitarians all over the world have to unite and condemn terror.
  • India will never bow down to terrorism and will strive to defeat it.
  • Terrorists should clearly hear out that India will never forget the Uri attack.
  • Our 18 soldiers sacrificed their lives because of terrorists exported by our neighbouring country.
  • Let both the countries (India and Pakistan) fight to end poverty, unemployment, illiteracy and see who wins.
  • People of Pakistan should ask why India exports software but Pak exports terrorism.
