Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated India's longest cable-style bridge ar Dwarka in his home state of Gujarat.

After inaugurating the Sudarshan Bridge, PM Modi also visited Bhet Dwarka Ji Temple. He also offered prayers at Bet Dwarka temple. Let us tell you that 'Sudarshan Setu' connecting Okha and Bayt Dwarka islands of Gujarat has been constructed at a cost of Rs 979 crore. While laying the foundation stone of the 2.3 km long bridge in October 2017, PM Modi had said that it would serve as a link between the old and new Dwarka.

The four-lane 27.20 meter wide bridge has 2.50 meter wide footpaths on both sides, an official release said. Sudarshan Setu boasts of a unique design, with a footpath decorated with verses from the Bhagavad Gita and images of Lord Krishna on both sides.

The bridge which was known as 'Signature Bridge' has now been renamed as 'Sudarshan Setu' or Sudarshan Bridge. Bayt Dwarka is an island near Okha port, about 30 km from Dwarka city, where the famous Dwarkadhish temple of Lord Krishna is located.

PM Modi will also offer prayers at the Dwarkadhish temple before addressing a large gathering nearby. The Prime Minister will also inaugurate Gujarat's first All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Rajkot this afternoon. Apart from Rajkot AIIMS, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate Andhra Pradesh He will also inaugurate four other newly constructed AIIMS in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. Five super-specialty hospitals, including Rajkot, have been constructed by the Center at a cost of ₹ 6,300 crore.
