PM Modi in Pune says Govt focusing on improving mass transportation including metro

PM Modi in Pune: Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Pune in Maharashtra today, where he inaugurated the Metro Rail project. PM Modi inaugurated 12 km section of the total 32.2 km Pune Metro Rail Project. After that he boarded the metro rail. During this, he interacted with the children sitting in the metro. Please tell that PM Modi also bought a ticket for the metro ride.

Earlier, he unveiled the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the Pune Municipal Corporation premises. Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari and Pune Mayor Murlidhar Mohol were also present during this. After the inauguration and unveiling, PM Modi addressed the people. PM Modi said that till 2014 there was a massive expansion of Metro in only Delhi-NCR of the country. The metro had only started reaching the rest of the few cities. Today metro has either become operational in more than 2 dozen cities of the country or is going to start soon.

At present, the country is celebrating the 75th Independence Day, Pune's historical contribution to India's independence. I respectfully pay homage to all the free fighters of this earth. I have had the privilege of dedicating a grand statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj ji today. PM Modi said that this statue of Shivaji Maharaj ji, who resides in the heart of all of us, will instill the inspiration of patriotism in the younger generation. It is my good fortune that you have invited me to lay the foundation stone of Pune Metro and you have also given me the opportunity to inaugurate it.

PM Modi said that Pune has continuously strengthened its identity in the field of education, research and development, IT and automobile. In such a situation, modern facilities are the need of the people of Pune and our government is working keeping in mind this need of the people of Pune.

PM Modi said that today I traveled in Pune Metro Rail from Garware College Metro Station to Anand Nagar Metro Station. This metro will ease mobility in Pune, give relief from pollution and jams. Will increase the ease of living of the people of Pune.
