Pink Chill in Several Regions, Rain Alert in States Including Punjab, Haryana

New Delhi: The impact of snowfall in mountainous regions is now being felt in plains as well. In the plains, a sense of coolness is now apparent in both mornings and nights. Clouds covered the capital, Delhi, on Sunday afternoon, creating a mild foggy atmosphere. The weather department predicts the onset of fog in several areas, including Delhi and Lucknow, in the coming days.

During this time, the weather department has forecasted rain in many states across the country. According to the weather department, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in areas such as Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi today. Kerala has been warned of heavy rain today. There is also a possibility of rain in hilly regions, including Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.

Heavy Rain Warning in Southern India

Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand may experience light to moderate rain today. The weather department has issued a warning of heavy rain in Kerala today. Strong winds are expected in many areas during this time. Tamil Nadu and the adjoining southern regions may experience heavy rain today.

The weather department predicts light to moderate rain in the northeastern states of Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura on October 24 and 25. Coastal areas of Odisha have been warned of heavy rain today, with the possibility of continuous rain on October 24 and 25.

Rain Forecast in Other Regions

The weather department suggests that there may be light to moderate rain in some parts of Punjab, Haryana, and western Himalayan regions until October 27. However, Rajasthan and Gujarat are expected to remain dry until October 30. Meanwhile, the first cyclonic storm formed in the Arabian Sea after the monsoon has now intensified into a very severe cyclonic storm named 'Tej.' There is a possibility that this cyclonic storm will move in a north-northeast direction and cross the coast between Yemen and Oman near Salalah by October 24.

Anticipation of Strong Winds During Rain

According to Skymet Weather, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with some heavy rain in a few places in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu during the next 24 hours. Some places in Lakshadweep may experience light to moderate rain. There may be light rain and snowfall in the western Himalayas. Light rain is also possible in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Meghalaya, and Nagaland. Moderate rain is expected in one or two places in northern parts of Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha after 24 hours.

High waves are expected in the sea off the coasts of northern Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, and West Bengal. Wind speeds may reach around 40 to 50 km/h, and gusts may reach up to 60 km/h intermittently.
