New Delhi: The petrol price has been raised by Rs 0.13 per litre while the diesel price was slashed by Rs 0.12 per litre, the state oil companies informed in a statement on Wednesday.

The hike and cut in the fuel prices, effective from midnight, exclude state levies that means the variations in retail selling prices could differ.

From today onwards, the petrol price in Delhi would be Rs 66.10 per litre, 17 paise higher, while the diesel would cost Rs 54.57 per litre, 14 paise lesser than Wednesday.

"The latest level of international petrol and diesel prices and the exchange rate warrant hike in selling price of petrol and cut in selling price of diesel. Due to the same, the prices of the fuels have been reformed," stated Indian Oil Corp on Wednesday.

The company further said that the fluctuations in prices of fuels in the international market and the exchange rate shall continue to be monitored closely and upcoming trends of the market will be reflected in future price reforms.
