Lucknow: Terming PDP_BJP government in Jammu and Kashmir as a total failure, the BSP Supremo Mayawati said that in the mysterious manner the dozens of government schools had been set afire in the Kashmir valley was a matter of grave concern.

''The J and K has already been under curfew for 114 days in running and now the schools are being set afire. It shows the failure of People's Democratic Front and Bharatiya Janata Party government to discharge its pro-people welfare duties,'' she said in a statement.

Welcoming the intervention of J and K High Court in the matter of schools fire, Mayawati said the order of the Court for an effective action was the righteous thing to do at the moment since the state government had failed miserably in this regard.

Choosing the occasion to launch a frontal attack on the Pirme Minister narendra Modi, she alleged that his apathy towards the Kashmir was unbecoming of him. The normal life is out of gear and the majority community in the valley has to go through the tough times, according to Bahujan Samaj Party president.

She said that the related persons were making allegations and counter-allegations but the fact remains that people have lost faith in the government while the BJP is trying to impose RSS agenda in the troubled state.

It may be recalled that over two dozen government schools in the Kashmir valley have been put to fire prompting authorities to close down schools for some time.
