New Delhi: Hitting out at Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, Congress leader Digvijaya Singh, on Saturday, called the former a cheater and a power-hungry man.

Digvijaya stated that Parrikar has cheated the people of Goa and he should apologize to them. He also alleged that Bharatiya Janata Party was indulged in buying of lawmakers in the state. Asking from apology from Parrikar, Singh took to twitter and posted, "Shame on you Mr Parrikar and your hunger for power. You have cheated the People of Goa. Apologize to them."

Taunting Parrikar back, Digvijaya Singh tweeted, "If he (Manohar Parrikar) has to thank anyone it is Nitin Gadkari who did aggressive 'MLA Shopping' on 12th March early morning from Hotel in Goa."

Earlier, taking a dig at Digvijay Singh, who was the Congress's leader in-charge of the state during assembly elections, Goa CM, on Friday, said that despite winning many seats in the state, the state in-charge did not try hard enough to form a government and as a result he acquired the CM's chair.

Sarcastically thanking Digvijay Singh, Parrikar stated, "My special thanks to honourable member Digvijaya Singh, who happened to be in Goa but did nothing so that I could form the government."

Manohar Parrikar, who resigned as the nation's defence minister to sworn-in as Goa's CM, on March 31, visited the Rajya Sabha during Zero Hour to thank the members of the house.
