Winter session of Parliament ends without transacting any major business

New Delhi: Both the houses of the Parliament were adjourned following noisy scenes created by the opposition members over demonetisation. They were on their feet immediately after the houses sat for the day.

Despite repeated appeals from the chair, the din in the house continued forcing speaker of the Lok Sabha Sumitra Mahajan adjourn the house for the day. Similarly the Upper House was also adjourned till 1400 hours.

It is second day in succession when issue of demonetisation dominated the proceedings of the Parliament.
