Balakot Airstrike has completed 5 years today. On this day, India gave a befitting reply to Pakistan on Pulwama attack.

There was a terrorist attack in Pulwama on 14 February 2019. On this day, at around 3 pm, a Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist hit a car carrying explosive material in a CRPF convoy at Goripora near Awantipora on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway. In Pulwama, this Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist had targeted the CRPF convoy in a suicide attack and in this attack, about 40 CRPF soldiers were martyred and 35 were injured. But India did not tolerate this attack silently. India had given a befitting reply to this attack by Pakistan and that too by carrying out airstrike exactly 5 years ago.

The country's Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised to take revenge for the Pulwama attack and India also did so. On 26 February 2019, India gave a befitting reply to Pakistan's Pulwama attack by carrying out an airstrike in Balakot, Pakistan. Balakot Airstrike has completed 5 years today.

India did not waste much time in avenging the Pulwama attack. India took revenge of the Pulwama attack at around 3 am on 26 February 2019, 12 days after the Pulwama attack. 12 Mirage 2000 fighter jets of the Indian Air Force crossed the Line of Control (LoC) and carried out rapid attacks on Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist hideouts in Balakot.

In this air attack, about thousand kilos of bombs were dropped on terrorist hideouts. About 300 terrorists of Pakistan were killed in Balakot air strike. PM Modi was getting every moment news about this air strike. PM Modi had praised NSA Ajit Doval, the then Air Force Chief BS Dhanoa as well as all the people involved in this mission for this airstrike.
