Not only Delhi, black smog is spread from Punjab to Bay of Bengal, NASA pictures show

Poison (Delhi Air Pollution) is getting dissolved in the air of Delhi every day. Due to increasing air pollution, there is a layer of black smog in Delhi in the morning and evening. Due to this people are having difficulty in breathing.

But this condition is not only in the capital. A blanket of haze is visible from Punjab to Pakistan and the Bay of Bengal. At the same time, the air quality index of Mumbai has also become very bad.

The American Space Research Agency (NASA) has shown some satellite images, which show that along with Delhi, pollution has spread from Pakistan to the Bay of Bengal.

Data from NASA's Worldview satellite shows that haze is associated with a sharp increase in farm fires in northern India. Since October 29, there has been a rapid increase in the incidents of fire in fields. The state saw a 740 per cent rise in incidents of farm fires on October 29 with 1,068 incidents - the highest in a single day in the current harvesting season.

The air quality index reached 500 in some areas in Delhi on Wednesday morning. Delhi has remained on top in the list of most polluted cities of the world for the last six days. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), at 7 am on Wednesday, AQI was recorded at 460 in Punjabi Bagh, 462 in Bawana, 452 in Anand Vihar and 451 in Rohini. AQI had reached 999 in Anand Vihar at 10 pm on 7 November.

Amidst increasing pollution, Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP-4) has been implemented in Delhi. Meanwhile, diesel trucks and construction activities have been banned in the capital. At the same time, Kejriwal government has also announced to implement odd-even formula from 13 to 20 November.

Due to dangerous air pollution in Delhi, winter holidays have been announced in schools from 9 to 18 November. Every year there used to be winter vacation in schools between December-January, but this time due to pollution the holidays have been postponed to November only. Delhi's Education Department issued this order on Wednesday (November 8).
