North India shivers with cold, dense fog in many areas including Delhi-NCR

According to the Meteorological Department, cold will continue in many areas of North India today. People of Delhi-NCR will also face a lot of problems due to cold. Schools in Noida have been kept closed till 8 January.

There is a severe cold wave situation in many states of North India. Due to this, common people's lives are also being greatly affected.

On Wednesday, the Indian Meteorological Department said that dense fog conditions will be seen more in Delhi NCR including Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab. According to IMD, visibility will be very low in many areas of the country.

According to the Meteorological Department, cold will continue in many areas of North India today. People of Delhi-NCR will also face a lot of problems due to cold. Schools in Noida have been kept closed till 8 January.

Giving information on social media platform X, IMD said that very dense fog was present in different parts of Western Uttar Pradesh, dense fog is present in different parts of Eastern Uttar Pradesh and Eastern Rajasthan. Giving information, IMD wrote that - Moderate to dense fog is completely covered in Punjab, Haryana, North Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh adjoining East Rajasthan, central parts of Uttar Pradesh, South Assam and Tripura.

While giving information to news agency ANI, Director General of Meteorology Mrityunjay Mohapatra said that the maximum temperature in most parts of Peninsular and North-Eastern India is likely to be above normal. He said that the rainfall in North India is likely to be more than normal during the winter season.

Movement of trains and flights have been severally affected in large parts of North India following the dense fog which reduced visibility. Several long distance trains have been running late by many hours while flights were also cancelled at many places.
