NIA raids 14 places in Kashmir, 8 in Delhi in connection with terror funding

Srinagar: NIA (National Investigation Agency) teams on Saturday raided as many as 14 places in Kashmir and eight places in Delhi in connection with the terror funding. A FIR has also been filed against separatist leaders Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Hafeez Saeed.

The residences of some other separatist leaders and prominent businessmen in Srinagar including Nayeem Khan Bitta Karate and Qazi Javaid Baba, Kashmiri separatists, were also raided by the investigative agency. It is worth mentioning that these separatists had earlier confessed about getting money from Pakistan in a sting video to promote terror.

According to the NIA chief Sharad Kumar, 21 locations, including 14 in Kashmir and 7 in Delhi, were raided on early Saturday morning. "The raids started early in the morning at 14 places in the city and are likely to continue till afternoon," he said.

In Delhi, raids are being conducted in Greater Kailash, Pitampura and Ballimaran in Chandni Chowk.
