The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is raiding more than 40 places in Karnataka and Maharashtra in the ISIS terrorist conspiracy case.

Sources said that out of the total 41 locations raided by the NIA since this morning, the agency officials have searched 1 location in Karnataka, 2 in Pune, 31 in Thane Rural, 9 in Thane City and 1 in Bhayandar. Information is being received that 13 people have been arrested during the raid.

Sources said that anti-terrorism agency officials along with police forces of Maharashtra and Karnataka raided these places. The case pertains to a criminal conspiracy hatched by the accused persons and their associates, who had pledged themselves to the violent extremist ideology of banned terrorist organizations including Al-Qaeda and ISIS and formed a terrorist gang.

Terrorist organizations started waging violent jihad to establish Islamic rule in India and for this, apart from running religious classes, they included like-minded youth with them.

Last month, the big terrorist plan of ISIS was exposed, when many revelations were made through the confession of an arrested terrorist of ISIS. They had a plan to carry out major ISIS blasts in Ahmedabad and Gandhi Nagar. At the same time, some important military bases of India were also the target of ISIS. The photographs taken from important military bases of India were sent to Pakistan and Syria.

ISIS, which had wreaked havoc in several Arab countries like Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan, was eliminated from there but some sleeper cells were still active there. In the past also the terror outfit had threatened to foment trouble in India. The NIA and other security agencies in the countries, however, were alive to the threat and taking appropriate action.
