New Delhi: Police nabs a paedophile in Vijay Vihar

New Delhi: A 38-year-old paedophile was nabbed by the state police on Monday, for trying to lure a minor in the Vijay Vihar area of New Delhi.

The four-year-old girl was playing in the park.

The victim’s mother said, "When I saw a man is trying to abduct my daughter, I raised an alarm following which the neighbours caught the accused and made a PCR Call."

The Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rohini) M N Tiwari said, " After sustained interrogation, Naresh told that he is a bootlegger and had previously been involved in two cases of similar acts in 2007 and 2013.”

About Naresh:

• The accused identified as Naresh, a resident of Vijay Vihar, was alreadyconvicted in two cases of sexual abuse of minor girls.
• Naresh was allegedly involved in around five sexual assault cases in last 7 years.
• He was also arrested for allegedly carrying illicit liquor.

A case has been lodged under sections of POSCO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences ) Act.
