National Doctors' Day: Key Points of PM Modi's Address

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the medical personnel on the occasion of National Doctors Day on Thursday. The Prime Minister said that doctors are called another form of God, so they are not called like that.

PM Modi's address on Doctors Day:

How many people will be there whose life has been in danger, may have been the victim of some disease or accident, or sometimes we feel like we will lose someone of our own? On this occasion, PM Modi said in his address that on behalf of 130 crore Indians, I express my gratitude to all the doctors of the country.

Key Points of PM Modi's Address:

PM Modi said that while doing this virtuous work, many doctors of the country have also laid down their lives. I offer my humble tributes to them, express my condolences to their families.

The Prime Minister said that today when the country is fighting such a big war against Corona, doctors have saved millions of lives by working hard day and night. He said that this year the allocation of the budget for the health sector was more than doubled i.e. more than two lakh crore rupees.

Health Infrastructure:

Giving information about the new schemes, the Prime Minister said that now we have come up with a credit guarantee scheme of Rs 50,000 crore to strengthen the health infrastructure in such areas where there is a lack of health facilities.

15 new AIIMS:

PM Modi said that till 2014, where there were only 6 AIIMS in the country, work of 15 new AIIMS has started in these 7 years. The number of medical colleges has also increased by about one and a half times. As a result of this, in such a short span of time, where there has been an increase of more than one and a half times in undergraduate seats, there has been an increase of 80 percent in PG seats.

In his address, the Prime Minister said that another good thing we have seen is that the people of the medical fraternity.

Importance of Yoga:

We have come a long way to spread awareness about Yoga. He said that the work which should have been done in the last century after independence to propagate Yoga, is being done now.

Doctors Day is celebrated in the honor of eminent doctor and former Chief Minister of West Bengal Bidhan Chandra Roy, whose date of birth and death falls on 1 July.
