Who was Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy?

He was born on July 1, 1882 and died on the same date in 1962. Not only this, Dr. C Roy was awarded the Bharat Ratna in the year 1961. Dr BC Roy was also honored with the Bharat Ratna on 4 February 1961.

Doctor B. C Roy has been instrumental in medical institutions like Jadavpur TB. Hospitals, Chittaranjan Seva Sadan, Kamala Nehru Memorial Hospital, Victoria Institution (College), Chittaranjan Cancer Hospital and Chittaranjan Seva Sadan for women and children have played an important role. He was also called the first medical consultant in the subcontinent of India, pioneered in many fields by the British Medical Journal.
