Monsoon Update: IMD issues Rain alert in UP, Bihar & these States

The Meteorological Department said that due to westerly winds, the pace of monsoon has slowed down in North-West India. It is less likely to reach Delhi within the next two days.

Mumbai: Monsoon has slowed down over Northwest India. According to the Meteorological Department, it is not likely to reach the capital Delhi in the next two days. However, even after this, there is a possibility of rain with strong wind in Delhi today.

Monsoon 2021 Updates:

The Meteorological Department said that due to westerly winds, the pace of monsoon has slowed down in North-West India. It is less likely to reach Delhi within the next two days. However, light to moderate rain may occur in the capital on Tuesday and Wednesday. According to the IMD, conditions are favorable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into most parts of Madhya Pradesh, East Uttar Pradesh, West Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana and some more parts of Punjab in the next 24 hours.

Rain alert in Odisha, Bihar:

According to the Meteorological Department, the Southwest Monsoon has advanced into the rest of the north-west Bay of Bengal, some more parts of Odisha, most parts of West Bengal, some parts of Jharkhand and Bihar.

The Low Pressure Area now lies over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal and North Odisha Coasts. This low pressure area will soon become more powerful, due to which it is likely to affect Odisha, Jharkhand and North Chhattisgarh during next 2-3 days.

The Meteorological Department (IMD) said that due to southwesterly winds, there is a possibility of heavy rains in Odisha, Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha (Maharashtra) and Telangana during the next 3-4 days. Heavy rains are very likely over West Bengal and Sikkim, Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand during next 4-5 days.

According to the Meteorological Department, heavy to very heavy rains have been predicted in the coastal and adjoining Ghat districts of Maharashtra and Goa and Karnataka during the next 5 days.
