Money Laundering Case: ED arrests NCP leader Nawab Malik

New Delhi: After eight hours of interrogation, Nawab Malik, a minister in the Maharashtra government and NCP leader, has been arrested by the ED. Nawab Malik, coming out of the ED office, gestured to the NCP workers in a posture like 'will not bow down' while waving up. But he was not given a chance to talk to the media by the ED officials. Nawab Malik was taken out of the ED office in a white colored Innova vehicle.

Nawab Malik arrested:

He was brought to JJ Hospital for medical checkup. After the medical checkup, they will be produced in the court. According to the information received, he has been arrested in the case of financial transactions of people related to Dawood Ibrahim, accused of Mumbai blasts. According to sources, the ED took Dawood Ibrahim's brother Iqbal Kaskar into custody from Thane jail a few days ago and questioned him. Iqbal Kaskar has named Nawab Malik in his interrogation.

Money Laundering Case:

As soon as Nawab Malik came out of the ED office in South Mumbai after eight hours of ED interrogation, NCP workers gathered in large numbers started announcing 'Jhunge Nahi Jhunge Nahi'. Nawab Malik also gave a signal saying that he will not bow down, will fight and will win, waving such hand and gestured to his workers. But the ED officials neither gave him a chance to talk to the media nor to the workers. At present, Nawab Malik has been brought to JJ Hospital in Mumbai for a medical check-up. After the medical check-up, they will be presented in the court and their custody will be demanded.

Earlier today Wednesday, February 23 morning, ED officers along with CISF personnel reached Nawab Malik's residence at Noor Manzil in Kurla, Mumbai and asked him to go for interrogation after talking for a while. Nawab Malik kept talking to him for a while, then got ready and left for the ED office with him.
