New Delhi: In a timely counter to opposition criticism, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked BJP Members of Parliament and Members of Legislative Assembly to submit details of their bank account transactions between November 8 and December 31 latest by January 1, 2017.

The PM has asked them to submit the details to the party President Amit Shah. The directions were given by the PM in party’s parliamentary meeting.

It may be recalled that the opposition has been targeting the Bhartiya Janata Party leaders since the Prime Minister had announced the Demonetisation Decision on November 8 last. It had been alleged that some BJP leaders and people befriends with them were informed about demonetisation before it was announced.

The opposition had also criticised the PM for announcing the note ban decision as a pre-election stunt ahead of key polls in several states next year.

The decision was being discussed in the Winter Session and both the Houses of the Parliament were disrupted several times.
