New Delhi: The official website of Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) was temporarily blocked on Sunday after it was hacked by some unidentified hackers.

National Informatics Centre (NIC) has launched a probe into the matter, said a source in the department.

Significantly, the National Security Guard website was also hacked in January 2017. The hackers had posted anti-national content on the website.

According to an official data, over 700 websites of state and central governments have been hacked during the past four months. The cyber crime cell has so far arrested 8,348 people in connection with the cases, while 315 have been found guilty and have been sentenced to relevant punishment.
