Mini truck overturned in Jabalpur, ten labourers dead, 25 injured
Jabalpur: At least ten labourers lost their lives and more than 25 were critically injured when a mini truck overturned here in Madhya Pradesh.
The incident took place in the early morning of Monday, on Jabalpur-Chargawan road near Neechi village, resulting in death of ten labourers. The injured were immediately taken to the nearby hospital where the doctors declared two of them dead.
As soon as the truck overturned, the driver immediately jumped out of the vehicle and fled away. The doctor said, "Two of the labourers died during the treatment and many are in critical condition."
The superintendent of Police Manjeet Singh said, "As soon as we were informed about the incident, we reached the spot. Around 100 labourers were travelling in the mini truck out of which eight labourers lost their lives at the spot while two succumbed to the injuries in the hospital."
He further said, "The driver is still absconding and we are investigating the incident. He will be nabbed soon."
