Militant killed in an encounter in Bandipora district of Kashmir
Srinagar: An unidentified militant was killed in an encounter with the security forces in the Bandipora district of North Kashmir on Tuesday.
The encounter occurred at around 0500 hours when the security team tried to cordoned the Parrey Mohallah Hajin (approximately 30 kilometres away from Srinagar) after a tip-off about militants presence.
According to the senior police official," As soon as we tried to cordoned the area, militants opened fire and tried to break down the condoned. The fire was retaliated and a militant was killed."
The investigation was underway.
More details regarding the incident are still awaited.
