Massive controversy over inheritance tax

Estate tax is also known as 'death tax'. This is a federal law. It is imposed on the transfer of a person's assets after his death. This tax is believed to be owed by the estates, not the beneficiaries. Property tax can be between 18 to 40 percent.

Massive controversy over inheritance tax

There is an uproar in the country over a statement by Congress leader Sam Pitroda. Pitroda had said that there should be talk on imposing inheritance tax in India. He said that there is inheritance tax in America. BJP has attacked Congress regarding his statement. Prime Minister Narendra Modi attacked Congress on Tuesday. He said in Chhattisgarh that Congress says that it will also impose tax on the inheritance received from parents. He said that the claws of Congress will snatch your heritage from you.

Seeing the matter being raised by the Prime Minister and the matter backfiring, Congress distanced itself from Pitroda's statement. He has called it a personal statement of Pitroda. Even after this, the matter is not coming to an end. No statement from any leader of the Indian Alliance has yet come out in defense of the Congress.

Which American law was Sam Pitroda referring to? Actually, two types of property taxes are imposed in America. One is wealth tax and the other is inheritance tax. Property tax is imposed in 12 states of America. Only six states impose inheritance tax.

Estate tax is also known as 'death tax'. This is a federal law. It is imposed on the transfer of a person's assets after his death. This tax is believed to be owed by the estates, not the beneficiaries. Property tax can be between 18 to 40 percent.

On the contrary, inheritance tax is levied on the person who is inheriting money, property or any other wealth. It is imposed on the transfer of a person's assets on his death. It is applicable in the state in which he is located, even if the beneficiary is living in another state. The beneficiary will have to pay this tax.

Sam Pitroda had said that there should be a debate on imposing inheritance tax in India. He said that there is inheritance tax in America. If a person has property worth 100 million dollars, then after his death, 45 percent of the property goes to his children and 55 percent of the property goes to the government. He said that there is no such law in India. Here, if someone has property worth Rs 10 billion, then after his death his children get all the property. Nothing is left for the public. He talked about discussing.

After the controversy over Pitroda's statement, Congress distanced itself from his statement. The party has called it a personal statement of Pitroda.

First this matter was raised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said in Chhattisgarh on Tuesday that Congress has said that it will also impose tax on the inheritance received from parents. The wealth you accumulate through your hard work will not be inherited by your children. The claws of Congress will snatch it away from you. He said that the mantra of Congress is, even with life, even after life. As long as you live, Congress will hit you with higher taxes and when you are no longer alive, it will burden you with inheritance tax. Those people who considered the entire Congress Party as ancestral property and gave it to their children, they do not want an ordinary Indian to give his property to his children.

BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya said that Congress is determined to destroy India. Now Sam Pitroda is advocating 50 percent inheritance tax for property distribution. This means that whatever we create with our hard work, 50 percent of it will be taken away.

BJP leader Jaiveer Shergill said that voting for Congress means losing 55 percent of your property. Earlier Congress had mentioned financial mapping in its manifesto. Then Rahul Gandhi talked about distribution of funds in Hyderabad. Today, Rahul Gandhi's chief advisor Sam Pitroda wants a law to grab 55 percent of people's property.
