New Delhi: Liqour baron, Vijay Mallaya has now been declared as the very first 'fugitive economic offender', under new-anti-corruption law.

A Special Special Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court has now declared Vijay Mallya a 'fugitive economic offender'.

All his properties can now be confiscated by the government.

Not just Vijay Mallya, government of India is trying to get back 58 loot & scoot economic offenders who are living abroad.

The hearing in Special PMLA court on the confiscation of the properties of Vijay Mallya will be held on February 5.

Mallya is wanted in India for his Kingfisher Airlines defaulting on loans worth nearly Rs 9,000 crore, which he got during United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government. He fled to Britain in March 2016.
