Maharashtra Govt bans sale of Patanjali's Coronil Medicine

New Delhi: Yoga guru Swami Ramdev's corona virus treatment drug 'Coronil' has been mired in controversy. After the Rajasthan government, now the Uddhav government of Maharashtra has also banned Patanjali's 'coronil medicine'. Simultaneously, the Uddhav government warned Ramdev that he cannot sell medicines without investigation.

Maharashtra Govt says NO to Coronil:

Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh said that there is no firm information about the clinical trial of 'coronil', so the sale of this drug in Maharashtra will be banned. Giving information on the tweet, Home Minister Anil Deshmukh wrote, "National Institute of Medical Sciences, Jaipur will find out if a clinical trial of Patanjali's coronil was done." We warn Baba Ramdev that our government will not allow the sale of spurious medicines in Maharashtra.'

Ayurvedic can't be sold without permission:

Before that, the Rajasthan government had prohibited the sale of Baba Ramdev's corona medicine Coronil. After the objection of the AYUSH ministry to the medicine, the Rajasthan government took the first restriction. Ordering the ban, the government said that no Ayurvedic medicine can be sold as covid-19 epidemic medicine without the approval of Union Ministry of AYUSH.

Swami Ramdev made a big announcement on the occasion of the launch of the drug and said that the ‘coronil medicine’ will cure the patient completely within seven days. The drug recovery rate is 100% and death rates are zero.

After the launch of this medicine on Tuesday, the Ministry of AYUSH issued a statement and prohibited the promotion of this medicine. With this, the ministry has asked Patanjali for complete information. That is, the ministry has not approved the medicine yet.

Describe the elements used in coronil medicine. Where the study has been done on medicine, the name of the place, the name of the hospital, protocol, sample size have also been asked for details. Data of Institutional Ethics Committee approval, CTRI registration and study results have also been sought, these questions were asked by AYUSH Ministry to Patanjali.
