Lalu Prasad Yadav's family faces deeper trouble in Bihar

Patna: The trouble facing former Bihar chief minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family members has deepened as his daughter who has been called for questioning by Income Tax officials next week may also be called by Enforcement Directorate and son faces cancellation of petrol pump dealership licence.

She may be questioned because her chartered account . Rajesh Agarwal, who was arrested by the ED a few days ago has given certain new information about the company set up by her and her husband during Lalu's tenure as railway minister.

According to official sources here on Thursday, he has" admitted" that the company was used for money-laundering by the couple.

Giving details he is said to have told the ED officials that the company purchased shares at higher prices and later sold them at lower rates, recording a huge loss. Thus, a good part of the black money was turned into white.

Agarwal is also believed to have told them that he has examined the bank account of the company and has found several irregularities. Also that demonetisation was used by the company to good effect. Money-laundering was done through proxies during this period.

While the trouble for the duo is far from over, another Lalu's family member, son Tej Pratap Yadav, is facing threat of cancellation of dealership of a petrol pump , at the outskirt of the city, owned by him. He has been served a notice in this regard and asked to answer some queries by the public sector petrol company within fifteen days .

In addition to other charges, he has been accused of violating the agreement reached between the two.

One of the clauses of the agreement was that he would ask for cancellation of dealership licence as soon soon he would be assigned some other job. He had become a petrol dealer in 2012 when he was looking for an appointment.

He was appointed a minister in 2015 and offered lucrative health portfolio but he did not ask for cancellation of the dealership licence.

Junior Yadav is also facing the charge of providing false information with regard to the land on which pump station has been built. It belonged to a company with which he had no association. Contrary to his claim. neither was he a share holder nor a director of the company.
