Pulwama: A terrorist was arrested with eight live grenades and Rs 60,000 cash by the Jammu and Kashmir police.

Terrorist identified as Arfan Wani is a resident of Awantipora area of Pulwama district, and was arrested on Sunday near Convent Crossing in the Gandhi Nagar area of the district.

It is to be mentioned that Police and security agencies have been put on high alert in the wake of intelligence inputs that the terrorists of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Hizbul Mujahideen are planning to carry out terror strikes in J&K and New Delhi on the occasion of Independence Day on August 15.

Following the arrest of Arfan, the J&K police have been cautioned to nullify any terror activity in the reason. Currently the terrorist is being interrogated by the police about the plans and his contacts in the city and outskirts.
