Bengaluru: Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) adds one more feather to its cap by successful launch of communication satellite GSAT-18 from French Guiana, Kourou in early hours on Thursady .

It was to be launched on Wednesday but had to be deferred by a day due to bad weather at Kourou.

ISRO said:

  • The satellite weighed 3404 kg was launched from French Guiana , Kourou of France.
  • It was launched by Ariane-5 VA-2315 satellite launch vehicle of International agency Arian Space.
  • It will be the 15 telecommunication satellite to be launched by ISRO.
  • GSAT-18 will provide services on already operational 14 satellites in C-band & Ku-bands.

PM Modi Congratulates:

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the scientists for the launch.
  • In a tweet he said that the launch of GSAT-18 was another milestone for India's space programme.
