Put a check on train delays or face action: Suresh Prabhu to officials
New Delhi: Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu on Tuesday has come down heavily on the officials following the complaints being received over late running of trains.
He has asked them to either improve punctuality or face dire consequences for the same.
The zonal heads have been asked to set senior officers in the night shift between 10 PM and 7AM to observe the situation. The senior officers will have to address the problems which are coming, leading to the delay in the running of trains.

The Railway Minister also stressed on the difference in the train timings data shown on the official website of Indian Railways, national train enquiry system (NTES), and the timings being experienced by passengers.
In a letter to the zonal heads, Prabhu sought corrective measures to eliminate the problems being faced by the passengers.
In the letter, division-wise analysis of punctuality puts light on the performance of 11 divisions including Varanasi, Mumbai, Sambalpur, Danapur, Samastipur, Jhansi, Jabalpur etc.
