New York: In another hate attack on an Indian origin man in the United States of America, a 39-year old Sikh man was shot at in Kent of Washington, leaving him injured. An unidentified man attacked him, yelling, “go back to your own country.”

Calling it a serious matter, police said that it is investigating the case.

Indian officials have identified the man as Deep Rai who is a US national.

"The Sikh gentleman is able to talk. We wish him a speedy recovery and are ready to offer all possible assistance," said Indian officials.

The victim Deep Rai has described the attacker as a six-foot-tall white man. "He was covering lower half of his face," he added.

Earlier, a month ago, a 32-year old Indian engineer Srinivas Kuchibhotla was shot dead in a bar in Kansas.

Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj, in consecutive tweets, said she has spoken to victim's father and he is out of danger now.
