Indian Army guns down two terrorists | one jawan martyred, infiltration bid foiled
Srinagar: Indian Army on Thursday gunned down two terrorists and foiled infiltration bid along the Line of Control in Uri and Naugam sector here.
A soldier was also martyred during the gunbattle. Security forces have recovered weapons from the spot and the area has been cordoned off.
"Two terrorists were killed and an Army soldier martyred in Naugam sector of the LoC in Kupwara district when a group of terrorists tried to infiltrate into our side from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir," a Defence Ministry source said.
"In another infiltration bid, the terrorists tried to cross over in Uri sector of Baramulla district. They were challenged. In the ensuing firing exchanges, two soldiers have been injured," the official said.

Infiltration bids at both places have been foiled, but the operations are still ongoing, the official added.
While on the other hand, ten Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troopers were injured in Shopian district of Kashmir Valley when their vehicle turned turtle and was pelted with stones.
The police said attackers resorted to intense stone pelting at the passing CRPF vehicle on the outskirts of Shopian town.
"The injured troopers are being taken to hospital. Reinforcements were rushed to the spot," a police officer said.
