India won’t delay in acting against terrorism, says Parrikar

Mumbai: Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Monday said that the surgical strike by the Indian Army clears India’s stand of not taking things lying down without going the aggressive way.

“Surgical strike has given a message that Indian government will not be aggressive but will also not take things lying down,” said Parrikar commissioning new warship ‘INS Chennai’ here.

He said Indo-Pak tension will only be solved if cross border firing from Pakistani side will be stopped. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi had made every possible effort to improve relations with Pakistan but he was criticized for the same,” said Parrikar.

What else Manohar Parrikar said?

  • India always made efforts to maintain good relations with the neighbouring nation.
  • But we decided not to precede the same at the cost of national interest.
