New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted the first India-Central Asia Summit on Thursday. Addressing this meeting, PM Modi said, diplomatic relations between India and Central-Asian countries have completed 30 fruitful years. Our cooperation has achieved many successes in the last three decades.

He said that now at this crucial stage, we must define an ambitious vision for the years to come as well. We all have the same concerns and objectives for regional security. We are all concerned about the developments in Afghanistan.

India-Central Asia Summit:

In his address, Prime Minister Modi said, in the context of Afghanistan, our mutual cooperation has become more important for regional security and stability. The second objective, he said, is to give an effective structure to our cooperation. This will establish a framework for continuous dialogue at various levels and among various stakeholders. And, the third objective is to create an ambitious roadmap for our cooperation.

PM Modi said, on behalf of India, I would like to make it clear that Central Asia is central to India's vision of an integrated and stable extended neighbourhood. Today's summit has three main objectives.

PM Modi address:

India's intention is to stop the increasing activities of China in Central-Asia. Recently, China has sent an aid amount of $ 500 million as aid in this area. So far, India has a meeting mechanism with five countries at the level of foreign ministers in the India-Central Asia Dialogue. Last month, New Delhi also hosted the third meeting under this format. In addition, national security officials of all five Central Asian countries participated in the Delhi Regional Security Dialogue on Afghanistan in November 2021.

At the same time, if the threat of Corona had not been there, then the Presidents of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan would have been in India as the chief guest of the Republic Day parade.
