Holi 2024: Good news for passengers, Indian Railways will run 1098 special trains including 571 Holi trains

On the occasion of festivals, there is a huge crowd of passengers in Indian trains. The festival of colours, Holi is also no exception. In such a situation, Indian Railways has made special arrangements like every time, this time also to deal with the crowd and to ensure that the passengers do not face any kind of inconvenience.

In view of this, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has said that on the occasion of Holi, 1098 additional special trains including 571 Holi trains are being operated. Besides, additional capacity of 30 lakh passengers has been made available by the Railways. There is a large number of people moving in trains four-five days before and four-five days after Holi.

According to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, "About 30 lakh additional seats are being made available in trains for railway passengers in this festival season. For this, 1098 additional special trains including 571 Holi trains are being operated. Passengers at stations "Proper arrangements have been made for the convenience. It is also being monitored 24x7."

Last year, 321 Holi special trains were operated on Holi. However, this time on the occasion of Holi, 571 Holi special services are planned. In this way, there has been an increase of 78% in train services as compared to last year.

This year 1098 special trains (Train on Demand) are available or already running as compared to 720 special trains last year during the peak Holi period. In this way, there is an increase of 52 percent in comparison to last year.

To reduce the Holi crowd, additional capacity of about 30 lakh passengers has been provided by Indian Railways. To cater to the last minute rush or passengers traveling during Holi festival, additional 11 unreserved rakes are being planned from major cities like Mumbai, Surat, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Patna etc.

Along with this, to reduce the crowd in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh etc., an average of 1400 regular trains are being run every day. Along with this, round the clock surveillance will be maintained at the top level in different parts of the country and additional security personnel will also be deployed for crowd management.
