New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of Sikhism, on his birth anniversary. Every year, on the full moon date of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month, the birthday of Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of Sikhism, is celebrated. Guru Parva is one of the sacred festivals of Sikhism.

Narendra Modi tweeted:

On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted and wrote- 'I bow to Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji on his Parkash Purab. May his thoughts keep motivating us to serve society and ensure a better planet.'

On the occasion of the same Prakash festival, President Ramnath Kovind has congratulated all the countrymen. He wrote- 'On the auspicious occasion of Guru Nanak Dev's birth anniversary, I extend my heartiest congratulations and best wishes to all the countrymen and all Indians settled abroad, especially the brothers and sisters of the Sikh community.

Come, on this auspicious occasion, let us all follow his teachings in our conduct. Guru Nanak Dev showed people the path of unity, harmony, fraternity, harmony and service, and gave an economic philosophy to realize a lifestyle based on hard work, honesty and self-respect. His life and his teachings are the inspiration for all mankind.

Let me tell you, the first Guru of the Sikhs was born in Nankana Sahib in 1469. Nankana Sahib is now in Pakistan. This place holds great importance for the people of the Sikh community.
