Gulmarg: PM Modi inaugurates Khelo India Winter Games

Inaugurating the second Khelo India National Winter Games held in Gulmarg, the Prime Minister said that it would play a key role in establishing Jammu and Kashmir a major center of India in the Winter Games.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated the Khelo India Winter Games in Gulmarg, Kashmir in a virtual mode. More than 1200 players from different states are participating in it. The Prime Minister encouraged the players after the inauguration. He said govt will develop center in every district under the Khelo India.

Not only this, institutes of higher education and sports universities will also establish in sports. He described all the players participating in these games as brand ambassadors of Atma Nirbhar Bharat.

Inaugurating the second Khelo India National Winter Games held in Gulmarg, the Prime Minister said that it would play a key role in establishing Jammu and Kashmir a major center of India in the Winter Games. He extended his best wishes to the players from all over the country.

He said that this time the number of players participating in this competition has almost doubled from most states. This clearly shows how the trend of players towards Winter Games is increasing.

Khelo India will help Players to participate in Olympics:

He also said that the experience of participating in these games will also help the players to participate in the Winter Olympics. Modi said that this campaign started with the intention of taking the Olympic podium from the Khelo India campaign. Two Centers of Excellence established in Jammu and Kashmir under Khelo India. Such centers are being opened in every district across the country.

Raising the morale of the players of Jammu and Kashmir, Modi said that in the Winter Games last year, the team of Jammu and Kashmir performed better than before. Now many states across the country are getting attracted towards the Winter Games.
