Govt is not planning to tax agricultural income, says R M Singh

New Delhi: Union agriculture minister Radha Mohan Singh on Tuesday claimed the country would definitely witness higher food grain production in the current fiscal.

Singh even made it clear that there was no plan to tax agricultural income.

His reassurance:

  • Centre will probe if there was any anomaly in the system with regard to undeclared incomes.
  • Centre is doing efforts to reach the farmers and also trying to tell them about various schemes.
  • Government is committed to double the income of farmers in five years.

The Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh was speaking at a press conference on his ministry's works during first two years of the Narendra Modi government.
