French President Emmanuel Macron visited the Dargah of Nizamuddin Auliya in Delhi on Friday night.

Emmanuel Macron was the chief guest at the 75th Republic Day celebrations held on the road of duty in Delhi. He said that he visited the 700-year-old center of Sufi culture in the country at quarter to ten in the night and stayed there for more than half an hour.

This Dargah is the tomb of the famous Sufi saint Nizamuddin Auliya and his disciple Amir Khusro. Earlier, President Draupadi Murmu welcomed her French counterpart Macron at Rashtrapati Bhavan and hosted a banquet in his honour.

On Friday, on the occasion of India's 75th Republic Day, French President Emmanuel Macron witnessed the parade displaying the country's pride and glory, joining the group of global leaders who have in the past Has participated in the country's biggest national festival in seven decades.

Macron attended the ceremony as the chief guest. He witnessed a grand military parade and cultural tableaux with President Draupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Cabinet members, foreign diplomats and dignitaries. This is the sixth time that a French leader has been invited as the chief guest at the Republic Day parade.

Following talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron, the two countries approved an ambitious defense industrial 'roadmap' to develop critical military hardware, while Airbus S.E. and Tata Advanced Systems Limited agreed to jointly manufacture the H125 helicopter.

Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra, while announcing the outcome of the Modi-Macron talks in Jaipur on Thursday, also said that there is a plan to send professionals in the age group of 18 to 35 years to each other's countries and Indians who have completed postgraduate degrees. One of the main decisions is to issue a Schengen visa for students with a validity of five years.
