Police have achieved great success in the encounter with Naxalites in Gadchiroli, Maharashtra. C 60 commandos have killed 4 Naxalites in this encounter.

According to SP Nilotpal of Gadchiroli district, on Monday afternoon, secret information was received about a conspiracy by some members of the Telangana State Committee to create disturbances during the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. After this, information was received that a group of Naxalites had crossed the Pranahita river in Gadchiroli from Telangana and had come to the district.

As soon as the intelligence was received, several teams of C60 and CRPF QAT were sent from Aheri Sub Police Headquarters under the leadership of Additional SP Ops Yatish Deshmukh to search the area. During a search this morning in Kolamarka mountains, 5 km from SPS Repanpalli, Naxalites opened indiscriminate fire on a team consisting of 4 C60 parties, to which the C60 teams responded strongly and killed 4 Naxalites.

When the area was searched after the firing stopped, bodies of 4 male Naxalites were recovered. 1 AK47, 1 carbine and 2 country made pistols, Naxalite literature and accessories have also been recovered from the firing site. At present anti-Naxal operation is going on in the area.
